LUMBERTON

NCRP Lumberton was a brownfield biomass power project. It consisted of a dual boiler and single turbine/generator design. The total gross output of the facility was 36MW with a net output of 33MW. NCRP Lumberton is a one of a kind facility as it is a CHP (combined heat and power facility) that uses poultry litter as its fuel source. NCRP Lumberton helps the state of North Carolina reach its poultry REC (renewable energy credit) requirements. Poultry litter is combusted and then the waste heat from the facility is used in dryers to dry wood for the pellet industry. This project was developed and constructed by D&D for GRP and the offtaker of the power is Duke.
